Paris accommodation
After the International Napoleonic Society conference that’s being held in Corsica in July, I intend on spending a few days in Paris (July 12 - 15). If anyone out there has recommendations on affordable accommodation, please let me know. ![]()

I just booked a trip to Paris for my own French-history project I’ll be spending four nights at Hotel de L’Orchidee in Montparnasse. It would’ve been out of my price range but Hotels.com got me a price reduction because I booked so many night.
(There are a lot of other hotels for a similar price, but this one comes with extra pretty.)
Other than that, Hotel Chopin is cheap and looks good, but I was scared off by them not accepting on-line reservations. (If I don’t get over my fear of speaking French soon this’ll be the second trip to Paris that I spend living off Skittles purchased in Metro stations.)
Have a great trip!

I usually stay here - it is basic (2 stars) but cheap and a great location in the Latin Quarter near the Sorbonne:
